FlyNow Aviation is developing the eCopter, an innovative electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft designed for urban air taxi services.
Unlike most eVTOLs, the eCopter features a coaxial electric drivetrain with two counter-rotating rotor propellers. This unique setup allows it to be classified as an electric helicopter by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.
The simplified design reduces complexity, materials costs, and weight, making it more affordable. FlyNow plans to offer one- and two-passenger versions, along with a cargo model.
The eCopter aims for a flight range of up to 50 km, a cruising speed of 130 km/h, and a maximum payload capacity of 200 kg. Commercial production is scheduled to begin in 2026.

Agile But Safe focuses on learning collision free high speed legged locomotion for quadrupedal robots. It introduces a control framework called Agile But Safe (ABS), which enables robots to navigate cluttered environments with both agility and safety.
The framework includes an agile policy for executing agile motor skills amidst obstacles and a recovery policy to prevent failures. By jointly achieving high speed and collision free navigation, ABS ensures that legged robots can move efficiently while avoiding obstacles or collisions with humans.
The training process involves learning various modules, which can then be deployed in the real world for indoor and outdoor navigation. The project aims to strike a balance between agility and safety, making it a valuable contribution to robotics research.
